James Harden's Reason For Leaving The Houston Rockets Revealed
James Harden wants out from the Houston Rockets for a surprise reason - the Rockets owner is a Trump supporter. Currently, there's rumors that the Brooklyn Nets are looking to scoop Harden up, to play alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
While it has the Nets looking pretty as they expand their empire, it leaves the Rockets in a tough situation - more of a rebuild. While it's unfortunate to see such talent leave, it boils down to a personal choice, which should be respected.
NBA Insider Ric Bucher claimed on The Odd Couple podcast that there was growing unrest and a bit of a revolt among the Rockets players upon the realization the owner support of the Republican Party.
"What I heard is, and we know how much politics and political position had to do with the boycott and protests during the Bubble -- I'm hearing that Tilman Fertitta’s strong Republican support and donations is one of the things that is contributing to this dissatisfaction," said Bucher about Harden and the Rockets. "There is a revolt here because they look at Fertitta as a guy who supports the current President."
Russel Westbrook is also looking to leave Houston for similar reasons, and the New York Knicks may be a contender. At this time, no trades have been finalized.
